This is a really good gate. I made the mistake for purchasing it for use atop our stairs. As soon as I got it together I realized it is DEFINITELY not supposed to be used near stairs. I am now using somewhere else and it works great. My only complaint is that the opening is a bit narrow.Get more detail about The First Years Hands Free Gate.
