Based on other reviews I was pretty skeptical about this disc but decided to try it anyway. When it arrived I was even more convinced I wouldn't like it because there's no way to attach it to anything--I assumed it had a sticky backing to it that you could glue to the inside of the lid or something, and it didn't. It's just the disc.
I have the Diaper Genie II elite and the solution I found is to slip the disc inbetween the blue refill and the white plastic of the pail itself (so the disc is vertical). I remove the disc and replace it anytime I have to put in a new refill.
Like another reviewer said, when you open the pail you can still smell poop, only it's mingled with orange. Kind of a strange smell, but it is a huge improvement over straight poop any day.
The one disc has lasted about six weeks. That's in the middle of winter and the pail is next to a cold outside wall. I'm sure summer temperatures would change things.Get more detail about Diaper Pail Deodorizing Disks.
